So Long Ago

It has been such a long time since I last posted anything. But college life has been so busy lately that I haven't had time. I thought I might make some time though so my mom can have something to read (she was harassing me for being lazy.) :) So here you go mom. I've been doing well in my classes and have been keeping my grades up. My math teachers still doesn't speak English and my English teacher, ironically, can't add worth beans. Everything's good, though.
Mom got me a hood to keep my face warm while I ride my bike. It is amazing because it fits under my helmet and because it looks like a ninja mask. People stare at me when I wear it, but I don't care because I'm staying warm.
I'm really looking forward to Thanksgiving break. It is going to be something short of amazing. It's short of amazing because I have a dentist appointment the day before Thanksgiving, but everything else will be fun. I'm excited to escape this dorm room and be in an actual house for a while. Compared to home, this dorm room, in size, is like a fancy size 25 shoe box, but oh well.
Oh! Last Monday, a group of friends and I got together and played some water polo. (if you don't know what that is, it is a game where you are in the pool on tubes and you have a goal on each end. Then someone throws a ball into play and you try and get the ball into your goal. It's like playing soccer in a pool using your hands.) Anyway, they put me as the goaley and I was unstoppable! Though it kinda hurt when they hurled the ball and I had to block it with my bare chest; I didn't get any bruises though. :)

Scholarships and Cars

Okay, I have been way too lazy and haven't posted anything lately. So here is something from the wonderful town I live in... I got an invitation in the mail to attend a Reception in my honor (yes, those words were bolded on the invitation, though it said "your honor" instead of "my") for being a recipient of an outstanding scholarship from the Board of Trustees. How cool does that sound! The reception is on November 13th and we will be fed a fancy 4-5 course meal. The other cool thing about this week is about a car. I must admit, the title of this post makes it sound like I won a car or something, but that's not the case. I got a 30% off coupon in the mail for Radioshack and so I decided to get some parts to fix my XMOD (radio coontrolled car). The original price for all the parts I needed was about $120, so 30% would help out a lot, I thought. I had to find the store though and it was about a 30 block ride on my bike (good exercise). When I got there and got all of the materials gathered up, the total came out to be $47 and some change. If you do the calculation that is about 60% off. I think I got a really good deal on that! Anyway, now my car runs, really fast, and I have another hobbie to spend time on now. :)
